No news yet.
The weather has only just brightened up and so "Operation Phoebe Come Home" is ready to roll again.
My new posters are printed and I will be spending the next few days putting them up. I have widen the search area - taking it up to 15 roads in each direction from our house. Leaflets will be next.
Will Phoebe still be able to recognise our scent - I still put out fresh smelly socks on the garden fence and in the shrubbery. I am asking as I am thinking of starting scent trails again at the back of the garden. We have an enormous area of land behind us and I just have the feeling that she may have gone off through the fields - we have searched them and previously left trails and I think that it is worth doing again.
Praying that all our missing fur babes are safe somewhere and come home ASAP.

Phoebe will recognise your scent .....its a familiar scent and she will know its a good scent,
(it has been known that cats can recognise your scent many years later they might not know who you are but will know its a good scent) recently a cat went missing in our village and the lady put up her socks on the fence and after the cat being missing for three weeks he came home that night (it does not always happen that quickly and will depend on where you are and how many scents she has to contend with) this is one of the reasons you should empty any litter tray around the whole area (preferably at night as cats tend to be around then and also you will not be seen littering the streets and if anyone asks it was not me who told you) in your case walking around leaving trails is a very good idea.
be lucky.
roger.

I can't remember if I got the idea here or elsewhere, but a Pringles tube is good for discreetly leaving trails of dirty litter. Although if you have a lot of land to cover then I suppose you'd be better off with a street gritting vehicle. Good luck

Hi LCN, just popped in to update Hades thread and wanted to see how you were getting on with Phoebe. Looks like we're still both in the same boat. I'm sorry to hear that she's still AWOL, but I'm also pleased to see that, like me, you're refusing to give up hope! I still find it odd that our two black kitties went missing one day apart!
Anyway, keep up the good work and remember that my thoughts are always with you and Phoebe.

Any news Phoebe
|
Sorry there's no news yet - keep on though, Phoebe is out there somewhere.
I'm intrigued at Loups' comments on the dates - my Poppy went missing on 17th December - so some months later but similar point of the month - I think Jannine's Milo too.
I'm thinking of you and all the other lost fur babes out there with Poppy!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. The thing I like the most about this forum is the lovely, supportive people you all are.
It does seem a little strange that our furbabes have all gone missing around the same time in the month and to add to this - I took in a stray cat on the 16th of the month.
I love the idea of a batty old dear register - I'll probably be on it one day I think I will start one in my area - I wont have too much trouble getting on to it when the time comes.
There is no news on Phoebe. I am continuing with the posters, leaflets, cards in shop windows etc until I find her. She is out there somewhere - probably with some batty old dear who thinks she's found a new friend.
Thinking of everyone who has a furbabe AWOL. May they keep safe and come home soon.
